Nothing says warm weather like lounging around in the sun with some fresh barbecue, so naturally we were so pumped to check out Hill Country‘s summer weekend pop-up, Backyard Barbecue, at the National Building Museum lawn over the weekend. Not only did we hear some great live music from Kalob Griffin Band–we munched on Barbecue Beef Sandwiches with pickles and onions, HC Spicy Hot Links, Barbecue Chicken Sandwiches with sliced jalapenos, skillet cornbread and cocktails like the Museum Porch Swing (gin, fresh lemon and housemade strawberry syrup) and the Texas Tornado (sweet tea vodka, lemonade, fresh mint, and Southern Comfort, please and thank you).
If you missed out, don’t fret; Backyard Barbecue runs every Wednesday to Sunday all summer long. Your new heart-of-D.C.-hangout has arrived.
