Last Thursday, BYT partnered up with FotoDC to help them make the most of Whole Foods 5% Day, 5% of the day’s net sales were to be donated to FotoDC!
The day raised about $25,000 for FotoDC, all of which will be going to support the festival and community arts programming. Huge thank yous to Take Five Meditation, Whisked DC, Ice Cream Jubilee, Ayoba-Yo, Misfit Juicery, Oh Mercy Hot Sauce, Route 11, Compass Coffee and of course Whole Foods.
The day was capped off with a food photography workshop curated by the ladies of Pineapple DC , featuring Jen Chase and Atara Bernstein, and moderated by Diana Morales of LustLocalDC and Greenheart Juice Shop. The workshop, which was free to all, was filled in mere minutes (the Whole Foods H Street patio isn’t that big!) and started off with Jen and Atara dishing out advice on growing Instagram followers (be conscious of how your feed looks overall, a well curated feed attracts followers like flies). Next was a hands on workshop where everyone helped put together a “summer in the city” photo set using fresh Whole Foods ingredients (and possibly the prettiest asparagus I ever did see).
