One of the biggest perks of being in D.C. are the embassy events. They know what they’re doing. Any embassy event that features excellent chefs is worth attending.

Chef Roman Shchadrin from the Russian embassy won the popular vote with salmon ice cream served on cheese bread with béchamel beluga caviar sauce. It was apparently served at the Court of Catherine the Great. Chef Jiraporn Bunlert of Thailand won the top prize for her lemongrass and mint salmon salad.
