We don’t do retreats at BYT. There are no trust falls or team-building activities. When we want to spend quality time together, you won’t find us in hotel conference rooms or in a cooking class.
Every year, José Andrés teams up with a cool celebrity chef and a bunch of killer sponsors (cough us cough) to produce a food event unlike any other. The levels of hedonism are unparalleled. If you thought Thanksgiving was the pinnacle of eating holidays, think again. We drink more alcohol and eat more things (like candied bacon and spare ribs and cuban sandwiches and paella and banana bourbon ice cream) at Dine-N-Dash than any other night of the year. Luckily, we also do a lot of walking and standing (and dashing).
It’s our favorite event of the year. And not just because of the amazing food and amazing booze, but because we know all the money spent is going to an amazing place. World Central Kitchen receives all the proceeds from Dine-N-Dash and uses that money to combat poverty and hunger. If you didn’t get the chance to go to Dine-N-Dash (and even if you did), we highly recommend donating to them here.
It’s a magical night. The kind of night you could only have in a place like D.C.
