It’s what’s for dinner, it’s the other dark meat– lamb wants is place at the dinner table, and not just at Easter. The goal of the American Lamb Board’s Lamb Jam competition is to showcase the versatility of this meat by putting it in the hands of creative chefs.
Much smaller (and less overwhelming) than last year’s affair, the 2014 DC Lamb Jam saw more variety in cooking temperature, and less variety with the ubiquitous nature of ramps. Occidential Grill brought home the title of DC Lamb Jam Champ and will represent our fair district on the West Coast, Cava Grill won people’s choice with a lamb eggs benedict, and Gina Chersevani earned the Best Mixologist title in a head to head battle.
