So, you guys-Saturday was pretty amazing, right? When we ran our 25 DMV ARTISTS TO WATCH IN 2013 story back in January, the positive feedback we got from it was so great that we decided to make it into a live event too (because, well, because WHY NOT?). The BYT DC EMERGING ARTIST SUPER SAMPLER was born. The Hamilton provided a home for Vol. 1 (thank you guys!) and we got 12 acts (and one DJ worth his weight in gold-thanks Steve Faith!) to perform in a mixtape format of just a few songs per set, rapid fire changeover style. It was a marathon evening and the genres were all over the place (indie rock, rap, soul, synth-with-feeling, michael jackson covers…) but it worked.
Photos are below but we’d just like to use this opportunity to urge you to check out all the bands involved and support them in the remainder of 2013 and beyond….
