One of the quirkier and more interesting museums featuring outsider art in our region, the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore celebrated its 20th anniversary last weekend. Billed as “20 Simply Divine Years” the celebration honored three visionaries for their intuition, courage, and impact in their respective fields: Visionary Dean Kamen, artist Bobby Adams, author and activist Taylor Branch. U.S. Senator Barbara Mikulski gave a stirring speech and Baltimore native John Waters touchingly roasted Bobby Adams with a video greeting from Johnny Depp.

The Gala was followed by dancing with 3AM Tokyo, Sac Au Lait, Balkan Gypsy Brass ensemble Balti Mare and party pumping tracks courtesy of Classic Collective DJs.
