Snore & Roar: Elephant Community Center @ Smithsonian's National Zoo
Spending the night at the Zoo is much like the movie "Night at the Museum." Except, all the animals are actually alive and active. Don't miss your chance to spend an evening at the Elephant Community Center with all the girls--Shanthi, Ambika, Maharani, Bozie, and Swarna, Kamala--the Zoo's six Asian elephants. The sleepover begins at 6 pm. and ends the next day at 9:30 am. All programs include a keeper-led tour of the featured exhibit, wine and cheese, super fun activities, and a guided Zoo tour with breakfast. FONZ Members always receive discounts and priority tickets. If you're not a member consider joining today at FONZ.org/join photo credit: Debbie Nathanson, FONZ Photo Club

The Time Machine Roast @ DC Improv

What happens when historical figures share a stage? They burn each other with hilarious jokes, just like the roasts you've seen on TV. Watch some of DC's favorite local comics get into character (and costume) to play the roles of history's most famous figures -- from musicians and scientists to emperors and warlords -- and roast each other right in front of you. The jokes might be mean, but they're never too soon.
