Welcome back to another W-E-E-K-E-N-D, you guys! The Pride vibes continue the next few days with PLENTY of good stuff going on, like queer dance parties, a free Big Freedia show in Central Park, a free outdoor screening of To Wong Foo (our GIF theme, duh!) and more! Besides all of that, you can take an astrology class for witches, take the SATs drunk, hang out with Mark Ronson at Elsewhere and everything in between. Before we get into all of ye olde details, here’s some rad stuff you might’ve missed on BYT this week if you were too busy watching the FIFA Women’s World Cup like I was!
- Speaking of the WWC, I’ll be recapping weekend play on Mondays and weekday play on Fridays! Here’s the first one // lots to update you on tomorrow, so check back then if you care! (And if you don’t, please know that WE CAN NEVER BE FRIENDS!)
- And because the WWC coincides with Pride, here’s me telling you about 18 openly queer footballers who are representing their countries on the pitch this year! (Yes, there are 100% more than 18, but I’m trying to keep it respectful and only talk about people who’ve made it absolutely clear!)
- McDonald’s has a new international menu and I ate the whole thing (all 2700 calories and $23.36 of it) because I hate myself!
- Here’s your complete (and to be regularly updated) guide to NYC’s free outdoor movie screenings this summer!
- We announced our preliminary lineup for the DC edition of Death Becomes Us (our true crime festival) and it includes Amanda Knox, the Buzzfeed Unsolved boys and more! (If you want an excuse to travel, this is it!)
- AND we interviewed our favorite people from Jose Andres’ World Central Kitchen about how they got involved at the organization, the best meals they’ve had, kitchen essentials and more!
