IT’S BROOKLYN PRIDE WEEKEND, BUDDIES! It goes without saying that the queer programming is especially off the charts the next few days (HELL YEAH!), from dance parties to a screening of But I’m A Cheerleader! (Our GIF theme, duh!) Aside from all of that, we’ve also got PIZZA VIBES, ART VIBES, UFFIE AND LITTLE BOOTS DJ SET VIBES, ALL OF THE VIBES, so get ready for all of that in JUST A MOMENT! Before we get into all the details, let’s first talk about all the D0P3 C0NT3NT you might’ve missed on BYT this week if you were too busy roasting the Straight Pride Parade:

Thursday June 6th

  • My top pick for tonight is Dirty Bingo Night: A Fundraiser for Trust Women over at Littlefield! Led by Lady Parts Justice, the evening will feature the one and only Lizz Winstead (so you know it’s gonna be a great time), and tickets are $25 each.
  • (You should ALSO stick around for a new round of the How I Learned series! Tonight’s theme is How I Learned To Live In New York, and the lineup features Nore Davis, Ophira Eisenberg, Rosebud Baker and more // tickets are $6-$10.)
  • AND I’d highly recommend grabbing tickets to watch a special screening of Saving Face ft. bonus conversation w/ director Alice Wu over at Nitehawk Williamsburg! HOW IS THAT MOVIE 15?! (Also, I feel like it’s one of few ACTUALLY GOOD queer films from that era, so shout-out Alice Wu on that one!)

  • You can also keep your LOLs queer over at Union Hall, where Open Flame: Proud AF is happening! Catch hosts Peter Valenti, Sam Campbell and Simone Leitner alongside Sydnee Washington, Brian Bahe and MORE // tickets are $10 a pop.
  • For tunes vibes, get to Bowery Ballroom for an $18 Grapetooth show…
  • …or head to Elsewhere for a $25 JR JR gig!
  • PLUS Pizzafest 666 kicks off a three-night run at The Gutter tonight! Bands, pizza…ALL THE GOOD THINGS! Tickets start at $10 each.
  • But maybe you just wanna talk about PIZZA, P-I-Z-Z-A, in which case get to 92Y! Peter Regas is teaming up with local pizza historian Scott Wiener to share newly discovered information about NYC’s most legendary pizzerias, and tickets’ll set you back $35 each.

Friday June 7th

  • For starters, it’s a new round of Tinder Live w/ Lane Moore at Littlefield! Her guests tonight include Akilah Hughes, Jes Tom and Mychal Denzel Smith, and tickets will run you $15-$18 a pop.
  • In terms of tunes, you can catch Geographer for $15 at Bowery Ballroom…
  • …plus Samia’s at Rough Trade for $12-$14…
  • …AND TOKiMONSTA’s at Schimanski for $25!

Saturday June 8th

Sunday June 9th

  • First, head on over to the National Puerto Rican Day Parade! Scope the route here.
  • Later, keep the Brooklyn Pride vibes goin’ at Metropolitan, where their Sunday BBQs are in full swing! Any drink you buy comes w/ a free plate of food from 5pm to 9pm. (Super worth it, I’m speaking from personal experience here.)
  • But if it’s dance-worthy tunes you’re looking for, then get to the season opener for All Day I Dream Summer over at Brooklyn Mirage! (I personally don’t have $50 to blow on a dance party, but if YOU do, then by all means!)
  • For something a little more budget-friendly, hit up The Well for a new round of Tiki Disco! Tickets are $10 a pop.
