It’s Easter soon or something! I dunno if you’re planning to stick around for the weekend, but if you are, you’ve come to the right flippin’ place! There’s plenty to do the next couple of days INCLUDING but not limited to about six million dance parties, a 420-appropriate screening of Koyaanisqatsi, Oregon Trail Live, brunch screenings of The Sandlot (our GIF theme) and MORE! Before we get into all that, let’s first talk about all the rad stuff you might’ve missed on BYT this week if you were busy getting into fights with people about Notre Dame! (That is what I was doing!)

Thursday April 18

  • If dancin’s more your jam, then get to House of Yes for this week’s Dirty Thursday, which is a Prince tribute tonight! (Free w/ RSVP!)
  • Speaking of free dance parties, it’s the latest round of PAT (ft. sets by JD Samson, Amber Valentine and more) over at Union Pool!
  • Feel like hula hooping instead? Get to Dreamland Roller Rink for retro jams, skatin’ ‘n hoopin’! Tickets start at $18.
  • Or if you’re just in the mood to marvel at nature, hit up Nitehawk Williamsburg for a screening of Seasons ft. a live score by Long Distance Poison!
  • (Unless you just wanna go watch this week’s episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race, in which case make a beeline for a free screening at Syndicated!)

Friday April 19

  • You can also hit up Avant Gardner for Secret Solstice Pre-Party! It’s free before 11pm or $10 afterwards, and they’re giving away a two-person trip to Iceland for the actual Secret Solstice, so could be very well worth trying your luck!
  • AND it’s Get Squanchy 2: A Rick and Morty Raventure at The Deep End // tickets are $25.
  • Or if you’d prefer to be on a boat, then go chill w/ Kool Keith! Tickets are $30 a pop.
  • And for comedy vibes, just get to Union Hall for Lo-Fi NYC ft. Kevin Bauer, Blythe Roberson, David Rafailedes, Sage Boggs, Karen Chee and more! Tickets are $8-$10 each.

Saturday April 20

  • It’s 420, and I can’t really think of a better way to spend the morning than at Nitehawk Cinema for a new round of Spoons, Toons and Booze!
  • I would also highly recommend gettin’ real high and heading to Syndicated for 3:30pm and 11:45pm screenings of Koyaanisqatsi!
  • Moving on from movies, you can post up at Union Hall for all things comedy tonight! First up is Picture This w/ Larry Owens, Karen Chee, Josh Gondelman and more, and after that is a new round of See You In Hell ft. Christi Chiello, Jordan Temple and more! Both shows are $8-$10 each.
  • Meanwhile, Caveat has some ace programming all day – first up is a new round of Sloshed SATs (which is where you take the SAT while drunk, and costs $8-$10), second is the latest Your Love, Our Musical ft. Rebecca Vigil and Evan Kaufman ($15-$20), and finally we’ve got another round of Ride or Die: Oregon Trail Live ($15-$20) // HELL YEAH!

Sunday April 21

  • Kick off your day at Nitehawk Prospect Park, where there’s a brunch screening of The Sandlot!
  • You might also consider celebrating Earth Day at 99 Scott Avenue! There’ll be art installations, educational panels, uplifting soundscapes, dance party empowerment, eco-friendly shopping and environmental initiatives from noon onward, and it’s free w/ RSVP!
  • Lookin’ for LOLs? Catch Anna Drezen and Jes Tom at Union Hall tonight! Tickets to the show are $8-$10.
  • It’s also Tim Dillon Has Guests at Littlefield tonight ft. Aparna Nancherla, Liza Treyger and more! Tickets to that one are $8-$10 too.

  • Speaking of Aparna Nancherla, she’ll also be on the lineup (also ft. Hari Kondabolu, Petey Debreau and more) at Cobra Club for Cracking Up ELM Benefit! Tickets are $12-$15 each.
  • At C’mon Everybody, meanwhile, it’s Not Dead Yet ft. hosts Lorelei Ramirez, Amy Zimmer and Ana Fabrega! Tickets will run you $7-$10 each.
  • But if you’re more in a tunes mood, then get to Bowery Ballroom for ionnalee and Allie X’s second show of the weekend! Tickets are $29-$35 each again.
  • PLUS it’s Queer Ladies’ Night at Rockwood Music Hall 3! Tickets are $10 a pop.
