ACTIVE: Hit up The Intrepid for a free IronStrength workout ‘n sunset yoga afterwards tonight!

COMEDY: Head to Littlefield for this week’s Butterboy w/ Jo Firestone, Aparna Nancherla and Maeve Higgins ft. guests Ophira Eisenberg, Adam Newman, Nori Reed, Gavin Matts and more! Tickets are $10 each.

CULTURE: If you wanna try your luck at hopping on the wait list for BH90210: A Screening and Conversation with Jennie Garth, Tori Spelling and Jessica Shaw at 92Y, I’d highly recommend it! But for a safer (and more inexpensive) bet, hit up Books Are Magic for a chat w/ Jia Tolentino on her new book, Trick Mirror! Free and open to the public!

FILM: Scope a $12 screening of Domino at Alamo Drafthouse tonight as part of their Cherry Bomb programming!

FOOD + DRINK: Grab $1 scoops to celebrate the opening day of Van Leeuwen Columbus! (253 Columbus Ave between W 71st St & W 72nd St.)

FREE: Do the Right Thing is screening for free on the roof at Our Wicked Lady, plus Bryant Park is hosting a free outdoor screening of Anchorman!

MUSIC: Pop on over to Baby’s All Right for a $10-$12 show from No Swoon with Day & Dream and The Natvral!

STAY IN: If you’ve got a date w/ your couch, you can tune into Love Island, Bachelor In Paradise, Antiques Roadshow and/or Jaws (on AMC)! (Obviously the latter two options are the best ones!)

ACTIVE: It’s a new round of Yoga for Witches at Catland tonight! Tickets are $15, and it’s BYO mat.

COMEDY: There’s a new round of Punderdome 3000 at Littlefield tonight, so if you want a side o’ wordplay w/ your LOLs, then this is the spot for you! Tickets are $10 a pop.

CULTURE: Find out everything you need to know about the upcoming 2020 election at Politics, Pacing and Comfort Food, a New York Times Live Event! Tickets are $40.

FILM: Get pumped for IT Chapter Two w/ a special $12 screening of IT Chapter One happening at Alamo Drafthouse!

FOOD + DRINK: Ya gotta hit up the 8-year anniversary of Yum’s the Word at LPR tonight! Special guests include Ophira Eisenberg and Shalewa Sharpe, and YES THERE WILL BE ICE CREAM CAKES! Tickets are $15-$20 each.

FREE: Head out to Red Hook’s Valentino Pier for a free outdoor screening of Real Genius tonight!

MUSIC: Mac DeMarco and Ex Hex have a $45+ Prospect Park Bandshell gig tonight, but if you’re too broke and/or not a fan of ye olde great outdoors (and/or Mac DeMarco), then just head to Mercury Lounge for a $12-$15 Hibou show! (I very much am in favor of the latter option!)

STAY IN: Love Island is on again, or you can watch Bridesmaids on E!, The Shawshank Redemption on BBC America or Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 on Syfy!

Wednesday August 7

ACTIVE: Get to the Flatiron Building after work for a free zumba class!

COMEDY: Littlefield will host Todd Barry ‘n friends (including Joe Machi, Janeane Garofalo, Shane Torres and Marina Franklin) tonight, and tickets will run you $15-$18 each!

CULTURE: Hit up the Bell House for a new round of NPR’s Ask Me Another ft. special guest Julio Torres, an all-around funny human who you probably know from a lot of different things, but especially in this case Los Espookys! Tickets are $15-$20 each.

FILM: Get to Nitehawk Prospect Park for a special screening of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (ft. live pre-show performance by Dolly Parton cover band Doll Parts)! Tickets are $18 each.

FOOD + DRINK: Tonight Saxon + Parole will host an all-you-can eat summer seafood feast (ft. lobster, crab, shrimp, oysters, mussels…you name it, basically…) on their terrace with unlimited rosé and beer! Tickets are $95 a pop.

FREE: Hit up Parklife for a free outdoor screening of Trading Places tonight, duh!

MUSIC: Catch Future Generations and Argonaut & Wasp on the roof at Elsewhere tonight for $15-$18, or if indoor vibes are more your jam, scope the one and only Molly Burch at Rough Trade for $15!

STAY IN: Continue the Love Island madness, or scope Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 on Syfy, Top Gun on Spike, Coming to America on IFC or Pretty Woman on AMC!
