CULTURE: Head to Strand Books to catch a conversation between the one and only Paul Auster and Luc Sante tonight! Admission is $20+.

FILM: Hit up House of Wax Bar for Queer Film Theory, a comedy show where people tell you about the films that influenced their LGBTQ identity! Free admission!

FOOD + DRINK: Michelle and Suzanne Rousseau will be at Books Are Magic to present their new cookbook, Provisions! Free to attend!

FREE: The South Street Seaport is having a holiday block party tonight ft. tunes ‘n free hot chocolate in the lead-up to their big ol’ Christmas tree lighting!

STAY IN: It pains me to recommend The Great Christmas Light Fight to you on ABC, but I watched it with my mom last week and there are SOME TRUE FREAKS for maximum entertainment value.

CULTURE: The inimitable Tina Brown will be at 92Y tonight to talk about her years at Vanity Fair! Tickets are $20+.

FILM: BBQ Films is presenting Festivus at Arlene’s Grocery tonight, and it’s gonna feature all their favorite holiday episodes of 90s TV shows! Yes I know that TV is technically not “film”, but we’re bending the rules! SUE ME! Tickets are $15 each.

FOOD + DRINK: Jeremiah Stone + Fabián von Hauske will be at Books Are Magic to present A Very Serious Cookbook w/ Alison Roman + Julia Kramer tonight! Free admission!

FREE: Sweden Makes Music showcases are always a great time, and FREE w/ RSVP! Tonight’s is at Baby’s All Right, and the lineup includes Cherrie, ViVii, Vacation Forever and Bella Boo!

CULTURE: Most definitely get to House of Yes for Hot Mess Hanukkah Party ‘n Drag Competition! Tickets are $10-$20 each.

FILM: I am like, PRETTY HYPE on Mary Queen of Scots, and there’s an advance screening happening at the Paris Theatre tonight // tickets are $17 a pop!

FOOD + DRINK: DEFINITELY get to Archestratus for Unearthed, a five course seasonal root-vegetable-inspired performative tasting menu! Tickets are $80 and include food ‘n booze.

FREE: Head to the Arsenal Gallery for the 36th Annual Wreath Interpretations opening night! All of the unconventional wreaths! All of the free admission!

MUSIC: This one’s gonna hurt your wallet, but it’s gonna hurt it SO GOOD! It’s the Ally Coalition’s 5th Annual Talent Show ft. Lana Del Rey, Mitski, Regina Spektor, Hayley Kiyoko and MORE, and tickets are $152+ each.
