We’re back for a new round of NYC Best Weekday Bets! Each day will feature a top pick in the areas of 1. fitness (active), 2. comedy, 3. culture, 4. film, 5. food + drink, 6. free, 7. music and 8. staying in (because let’s face it, sometimes you just want to not leave your couch). Get ready for Kimmel in Brooklyn, boozy yoga, a screening of Let The Right One In (our GIF theme) and MORE // details as follows:

Monday, September 15

ACTIVE: It’s a new round of boozy yoga at Coco-Mat! Tickets are suggested donation, and the free cocktails are provided by Deep Eddy.

COMEDY: Phoebe Robinson is at Gramercy Theatre tonight for Everything Is Trash But It’s Okay, so definitely grab yourself a $20+ ticket and g-g-g-g-go!

CULTURE: Meredith Monk is at LPR for NIGHT TWO of Cellular Songs! Tickets are $25+. Plus it’s a new round of Ask Me Another at the Bell House tonight, and Michael C. Hall and Ronny Chieng are the VIP guests! Grab tickets for $15-$20.

FILM: OBVIOUSLY make a beeline for Videology, where The Witch is screening for $12 tonight! (Unless you’re too busy watching the OG Let The Right One In at Alamo Drafthouse!)

FOOD + DRINK: Get to Archestratus for a chat about Case Vecchie ft. bonus wine and arancine! Tickets are $25 each.

FREE: There are apparently still free spots left to see Kimmel in Brooklyn this afternoon ft. special guest Adam Sandler at BAM! So if that’s your jam, I guess sign up!

MUSIC: Most definitely head to Mercury Lounge for a $12 show from New Myths and Elliot & The Ghost! (PLUS Little Dragon will play Elsewhere for $35-$40!)

STAY IN: I don’t know what The Parent Trap has to do with 31 Nights of Halloween on Freeform, but I would never not tell you to watch The Parent Trap, so. This is me saying to do that tonight. (And/or watch The Exorcist on AMC, IDK.)

Tuesday, October 16

ACTIVE: Head to Space Ninety 8 for Pillow Talk Yoga ft. complimentary wine! $15 suggested donation.

COMEDY: Hit up Union Hall for Hell Yeah with James Cross! Guests include Hari Kondabolu, Catherine Cohen, Joe Rumrill and more, and tickets are just $5-$10 each.

CULTURE: Catch NIGHT THREE of the one and only Meredith Monk at LPR! Tickets are $25+.

FILM: It’s your last chance to catch the OG Suspiria at IFC Center, so get in ye olde Halloween spirit and grab tickets!

FOOD + DRINK: Urban Vegan Kitchen is hosting another Vegan Parley ft. vegan dinner, plus a discussion about the ethics of online shopping!

FREE: It’s another round of Kimmel in Brooklyn today, so if you can bunk off work and get to BAM by 3:30pm, you’ll be rewarded with special guests John Krasinski and St. Vincent!

MUSIC: The Milk Carton Kids (who’ve been likened to a modern-day Simon & Garfunkel) will be taking over Brooklyn Steel this evening for $30+!

STAY IN: I feel very conflicted re: The Purge on USA because it’s not good, but I can’t stop watching since I just want all the women to be gay and do crimes. So I will probably watch that and continue to feel conflicted. Join me!

Wednesday, October 17

ACTIVE: Wanna learn about (and drink) wine AND do yoga? The William Vale is hosting exactly that with Yoga Unwined tonight, and tickets are $35 each.

COMEDY: Joe Zimmerman has an album release show at Littlefield ft. Emmy Blotnick, Shalewa Sharpe and Josh Gondelman! Tickets are only $10-$12! Go!

CULTURE: If you can stand the idea of sitting through an $87 conversation with Kanye West, he’ll be at Town Hall with Charlamagne Tha God. (There are still tickets available, which speaks volumes re: Kanye’s popularity at the moment.)

FILM: Masculin Féminin is screening at Metrograph tonight! Go forth and Godard!

FOOD + DRINK: Want to have a fancy 3-course dinner with your dog? Boris & Horton is making it happen! $55 for one human and one dog, $30 for each additional dog, $20 for each additional human.

FREE: Today’s Kimmel in Brooklyn guests are like, basically the best of all time – Cardi B AND Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will be there, so sign up for free tickets now, duh! (You can also swing by Videology for free Stranger Things bingo later.)

MUSIC: Catch Shilpa Ray over at Union Pool tonight for just $12!

STAY IN: Watch the USWNT (hopefully) kick Canada’s ass in the CONCACAF 2019 FIFA WWC qualifiers final! Will be on FS1 at 8pm. (And then watch AHS on FX after that, obviously!)
