New Year’s Eve Video of the Day: Will Smith Through the Ages

HAPPY NEW YEAR’S EVE, ONE AND ALL. Remember Y2K? Remember WILL2K? We’ve survived it all, you guys. We made it through the new millenium and the alleged scary technology collapse, we made it through the Mayan apocalypse and by god, we’ll probably make it through this fiscal cliff business.

And if there’s one party spirit animal to guide us through the rest of the workday, let it be Mr. Will2K himself. This single wasn’t spectacular; it was no “Wild, Wild West” or “Men in Black” theme, that’s for damn sure. Its greatest aspect was a Clash sample but damnit if that didn’t save it and get our feet moving. The video itself is also pretty fun and involves Will Smith guiding us through previous New Year’s Eve celebrations, effectively Ghost of New Year’s Past-ing that shit through the decades. (Is it just us or does that time travel device look almost identical to the one in MIB III?) Ready to see Smith in a fedora AND a soultrain? Happy New Year, everyone. We’ll see you next year.
