I had a radio show that only played bands performing in the District. That show is super dead, so we’ve resurrected it (with way more words and far less radio) in the form of this column. Every day I’ll review a song from a band playing in D.C. that night. The rules are, 1. I can only listen to the song once and 2. I only have until the end of the song to finish my review.

I am writing this New To Me from the W Hotel because today is the first day of the Bentzen Ball and spirits are high or whatever. This is very cute song. It’s kind of ethereal and laid back, but not so laid back that it will put you to sleep. This is good music for sitting in a hotel. This is good rainy day music (it is seriously gross as fuck outside). The lead singer has a very pretty voice and the music video is adorable. I like it. I like it all.

You can see Wolf Alice tonight at U Street Music Hall.
