I had a radio show that only played bands performing in the District. That show is super dead, so we’ve resurrected it (with way more words and far less radio) in the form of this column. Every day I’ll review a song from a band playing in D.C. that night. The rules are, 1. I can only listen to the song once and 2. I only have until the end of the song to finish my review.

TODO MAS – PAPER DREAMS

I’m back! Again! It’s good to see you. I’m pretty excited about this song because their website is very well put together and that leads me to believe this is going to be very different than last weeks New To Me. Okay there is a lot coming at you right from the beginning with this song and I am already a little overwhelmed. In a good way, I think. I’m not entirely sure what the lyrics are but now that I’ve turned the volume down a little bit this is way more calm and serene and less in my face. This is incredibly dreamy. I can see some hip yoga studio using this in a commercial. I don’t mean that in a bad way. This is just so calming. This is the kind of music I want to hear right when I wake up in the morning, so I’ll feel better about going back to sleep. Oh man, the next song just started and I’m going to break all of my rules really quick to tell you it’s even BETTER. You should go see Todo Mas tonight.

You can see Todo Mas tonight at DC9.
