Once upon a time, I had a radio show that only played bands currently performing in the District. That show is super dead, so we’ve resurrected it (with way more words and far less radio) in the form of this column. Every day I’ll review a song from a band playing in D.C. that night. The rules are, 1. I can only listen to the song once and 2. I only have until the end of the song to finish my review.

I have to admit. I was intrigued by the name The Thrillbilly’s. I feel like I’ve known people that I would characterize as thrillbillys and I wanted to see if this would match up with what I imagined. It… kind of did. I have to be honest. I was expecting more psychobilly. I was pretty pumped for it actually (I LOVE psychobilly). So, I am a little disappointed, but that’s not really the bands fault. I like this. This is fun. I love country music. Even the shittiest country music. I’m pretty easy to please.

You can see The Thrillbilly’s tonight at Gypsy Sally’s.
