Once upon a time, I had a radio show that only played bands currently performing in the district. That show is super dead, so we’ve resurrected it (with way more words and far less radio) in the form of this column. Everyday I’ll review a song from a band playing in D.C. that night. The rules are, 1. I can only listen to the song once and 2. I only have until the end of the song to finish my review.

A cursory google search tells me that this guy has a song on The Walking Dead and was on American Idol. I always forget that American Idol is still a thing people watch. This sounds kind of spooky and Handsome Family-esque (except not as good as The Handsome Family). I could see this being the intro to True Detective’s next season, although, to be honest, I am starting to get kind of bored. I’m glad we’ve transitioned into a fiddle jam session. I would take fiddles over this whispery/mournful singing any day.

You can see Lee DeWyze at Jammin Java tonight. You should probably dress up like a zombie.
