I had a radio show that only played bands performing in the District. That show is super dead, so we’ve resurrected it (with way more words and far less radio) in the form of this column. Every day I’ll review a song from a band playing in D.C. that night. The rules are, 1. I can only listen to the song once and 2. I only have until the end of the song to finish my review.
KING DUDE – FEAR IS ALL YOU KNOW
How could you possibly pass up a name like King Dude? I haven’t really even started listening and I’m already hooked. I’m so ready to love this entirely based on the name alone. Also apparently he has an album with Chelsea Wolfe, so that’s cool. This music video is giving me Rob Zombie vibes (never a bad thing) and it’s definitely inappropriate for work. I’m very uncomfortable. There are a lot of shots of strippers in fetish wear. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but you know, you might want to watch this in the comfort of your own home instead of in the middle of Starbucks/insert hip neighborhood coffee place here. This is kind of like a more metal influenced Type O Negative? Either way I’m down. This is perfect Halloween music.
