I had a radio show that only played bands performing in the District. That show is super dead, so we’ve resurrected it (with way more words and far less radio) in the form of this column. Every day I’ll review a song from a band playing in D.C. that night. The rules are, 1. I can only listen to the song once and 2. I only have until the end of the song to finish my review.

FARAO – THE HOURS

This very atmospheric and pretty and autumn-esque, and almost kind of witchy. Plus, the music video is a super cool idea. I bet it took forever to shoot, but it was totally worth it because it’s very hypnotic. I can barely look away. This is almost like a nicer, sweeter, less intense Chelsea Wolfe. I like this song. I even like the random clapping that just started happening out of nowhere and usually I think clapping in songs is dumb. This would be a good song to listen to when it’s overcast, I think.

You can see Farao tonight at DC9.
