Once upon a time, I had a radio show that only played bands currently performing in the District. That show is super dead, so we’ve resurrected it (with way more words and far less radio) in the form of this column. Every day I’ll review a song from a band playing in D.C. that night. The rules are, 1. I can only listen to the song once and 2. I only have until the end of the song to finish my review.

CUDDLE MAGIC – OVERLOADED

Aww, Cuddle Magic is such an adorable name. What sweet little babies. Okay, this clarinet (i think?) sounds pretty cool. The lead singer has a pretty voice. Everything is interesting enough so far. There’s the chorus. It’s okay. I think my interest is plateauing. This is fine, but it’s not that great. I think I wish there was a little more? They have a big setup but the music still seems kind of thin. Is that a thing? I don’t know what I’m talking about.

You can see Cuddle Magic at U Street Music Hall.
