In life, there are things that inexplicably make you smile, like a cartoon-y car horn sounds or thinking about the brain trust that designs the amorphous Olympics mascots.  Stereo Total is like that;  a shambolic French/German duo that’s half indie, half-techno, half grumpy and half class clown (Françoise Cactus and Brezel Göring).  D.C. is blessed as a stop on almost any U.S. tour, and their DC9 appearance last Thursday was their kick-off.  The show was good and then somehow a switch flipped and  it transcended into greatness, as the primed and dancing audience crowd-surfed Brezel around the room, got onstage and danced with the band during a techno-pop encore, the band ripping thru “Exakt Neutral,” “L’Amour A Trois,” “Miau Miau,” Holiday Inn,” and “Everybody in the Discotheque (I Hate)” all the while.
