In anticipation of the band’s show at Rockwood next Tuesday (6/24) and Firefly Music Festival this weekend, we got The Tontons to give us a little sampling of what they’ve been listening to lately. SO, prepare to have a little work day boost via ALL OF THE BELOW, and be sure to catch ’em live at Rockwood next week! Here we go:

Sharon Van Etten – Take Chances

The chorus on this song is so tight. I had never really listened to Sharon but when I heard this single I became a huge fan.  Really into the production of this song the record as a whole.

2NE1 – Come Back Home

Super into K Pop right now and 2NE1 are the best group right now.  If you wanna jam hard to a song this is the one.  They have mastered the American Pop sound and made it better. Actually just listen to the whole record.

John Lennon – Starting Over

We have been playing this song for sound checks on this tour. The song is great and just a lot of fun, reminds me of Christmas in July.

The Rolling Stones – Tumbling Dice

This song has been the theme of our tours the last couple of months.  We all got into playing “3’s” (dice game).  We have probably lost more money than we have made but its a great way to pass the time while on the rode.

Mac DeMarco – Chamber of Reflections

This song is my favorite off of Mac DeMarco’s new album salad days. The whole album is really great but this song stands out. I like the Baroque feel of the song. I jam this a lot while jogging or taking walks.
