Welcome to Leakage, a BYT column dedicated to listening to your favorite band’s releases weeks before the street date. Every week I’ll be giving you brief reviews of said leaks with an MP3 to sample. If you want us to take down your song, holla back ([email protected]).

(Sorry guys, I’m not posting the album in it’s entirety or giving you something other than the single. Plus if you don’t know how to use Google by now, you’re shit out of luck anyway.)

Some parting words: if you like the band, buy the record. You don’t want to be that guy.

The Tallest Man On Earth, The Wild Hunt (Release date: April 21, 2010): The “Swedish Bob Dylan” scores another winner with 10 love songs filled with natural imagery.  You can swoon with me when he plays The Black Cat in April.

Listen: Tallest Man On Earth — “The King of Spain”

Drive-By Truckers, The Big T0-Do (Release date: March 16, 2010): With eight records under the belt, you know what you’re going to get with a Drive-By Truckers release. The Big To-Do is a balls-to-the-wall rock record filled with whiskey soaked blue collar anthems. Patterson Hood, Mike Cooley and the delightful surprise Shonna Tucker help create yet another great record from one of rock’s most consistent bands.

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Beat the Devil’s Tattoo (Release date: March 9, 2010): When it comes to Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, I’ve been rather indifferent with each release since Howl. The band is back with their sixth full-length that as being hailed as the return to their roots. Beat The Devil’s Tattoo is a solid record with some killer hooks. I’m glad you’re back BRMC.

Love Is All, Two Thousand and Ten Injuries (Release date: March 23, 2010): With no label to call home, Love Is All have released their best record. After two critically acclaimed releases Two Thousand and Ten Injuries is filled with eclectic songs and gorgeous pop gems.
