Political rants, heated debates, and regrettable statuses from the platform’s early years. If it’s embarrassing, and/or unintentionally hilarious, we’ll perform it. And of course, there will be riffing. Lots of riffing.
Cast includes Franqi French, Yoki Danoff, Bridget Geiran, Michele Sometimes-Gray, W. Cody Skinner, & Romane Walters.

Power of Positive Drinking: Election Aftermath @ Port City Brewing Co.
It’s getting down to the wire. Is this it? Is November 8 going to go down in history as the day the shit hit the fan? Up turns down, black turns white. Monkeys drive cars and smoke cigarettes. And poor sweet America lies wrapped in total chaos. A ruined wasteland populated by weird mutants or maybe just libertarians. We certainly don’t hope for the worst. But we at the Power of Positive Drinking at least want to hedge our bets and throw one hell of a post-apocalyptic comedy show with some of the DMV’s funniest steam-punk barbarians. Just in case. Afterall, two days after the election seems like enough time for everything to fall apart.

Sam Morril, one of the fasting rising comics in NYC, is a nationally touring comedian widely known as one of the best joke writers on the scene today. The New York Daily News called him “one of the four funniest in New York.” Sam has been seen on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Conan, Inside Amy Schumer, @Midnight, Adam Devine’s House Party, Last Comic Standing, and America’s Got Talent. He also has his own Comedy Central special and album called “Class Act.” Both were met with rave reviews. “Class Act” went on to be #1 on iTunes comedy specials and was ranked number 6 in The Laugh Button’s review, “Best comedy albums and specials of 2015.” As popular online comedy magazine, Splitsider, says: “Morril has a knack for making the potentially unfunny very funny, while still leaving enough bleakness lingering in the void to remind us that jokes are merely coping mechanisms, not problem solvers.” When not on the road, you can see Sam regularly at The Comedy Cellar, various other clubs, and indie shows around New York City. – Underground Comedy DC

Bob Marley @ DC Improv (17-20)

He’s got an endless supply of stories about his family, his childhood and New England living (he has the record for the world’s longest stand-up show). And it’s all served up with good-natured, blue-collar attitude. He’s one of the most likable comics we know. – DC Improv

Revenge of Super Dank Fanfiction Orgy @ The Windup Space
Hey we hate ourselves so we’re doing this again.
The main, and only events, will be the prepared and timed fanfiction competitions. For those of you who weren’t at the previous nights here’s how that works:
PREPARED_______________________
People bring in fan fictions prepared ahead of time, and read/present them. The goal is 5-7 minutes when read aloud.
NOTE: Fandoms chosen by the authors for the prepared section will be on a first-come, first-served basis, so if you know what you want to write about, sign up early!
NOTE: AFTER SEVEN MINUTES, YOUR MICROPHONE WILL BE TURNED OFF, MUSIC WILL BE PLAYED, YOU WILL BE BOOED THEN PHYSICALLY REMOVED FROM THE STAGE. We’re not putting up with any 20 minute stories, or even 8 minute stories. Practice reading ahead of time and time yourself. No warnings, no exceptions.
TIMED___________________________
People are given a topic for their fanfiction by us or the audience. Then they go backstage and have a TBD amount of time to write their fanfiction before they come back out and read it on stage. We’ll be doing a few different games in this style with various twists, but if you want to enter this competition bring a laptop, notebook, or whatever your preferred writing tool may be.
If you’d like to take part in either the prepared or timed competitions send an e-mail to [email protected] with your name and whether you want to do timed or prepared.

Donnell Rawlings @ DC Improv (25-27)
Thanksgiving is a great time to see your family. And after dealing with those people for a few days, you’re gonna need a laugh. Donnell will be there to help. He started out by heckling performers at DC comedy clubs, then took the stage himself. His success as a stand-up landed him a spot on “Chappelle’s Show,” securing him a spot in pop culture history, and he became a favorite on some huge East Coast radio shows (including the WPGC morning show). Skip the Black Friday sales – the only thing you need to buy are tickets to these shows. – DC Improv
Jerrod Carmichael @ Arlington Drafthouse (25-26)
Jerrod Carmichael is an LA based standup comedian and performer originally from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Jerrod recently wrapped Season 2 of his NBC Series The Carmichael Show which he stars in and executive produces and has been renewed for Season 3.
