February 9

Christian Finnegan @ DC Improv (9-12)

Christian is a pioneer of the “talking head” show, a sitcom actor and a Twitter all-star. Lately he’s been co-hosting “Black & White” on A&E, and he was a writer for “The Jim Gaffigan Show.” And most important (as far as we’re concerned), he’s one of our favorite stand-ups, delivering shows as sharp and funny as anyone on our schedule. (He even recorded one of his albums here!) – DC Improv

He’s very handsome – Jenn Tisdale

Barry Rothbart @ Drafthouse DC (9-11)

Barry is starring in a new sitcom called Downward Dog that looks VERY amusing. He also has a very adorable dog. These two things are purely coincidental. – Jenn Tisdale

Barry was also in Wolf of Wall Street. Here’s his head moving from Leo’s left shoulder over to his right shoulder.

Power of Positive Drinking pt. 43: Broken Family Feud @ Port City Brewing Company (VA)

The odds are 50/50. You can roll the dice with that special person you think is the one and end up living a happy, fulfilled life. Or you make each other so miserable you actually want to introduce blood-sucking lawyers into your relationship. When it happens to any of us, it’s a tragedy of irreconcilable differences. But when it happens to a famous athlete or movie star, it can also be wildly entertaining. You can almost hear the internet igniting into a blaze of tasteless memes and hashtags. It’s a guilty pleasure and a privilege of the majority of people leading boring, regular-ass lives, so the Power of Positive Drinking will be damned if we don’t get some our funniest comedian friends together to knock back a few cold ones and laugh at the fortunate ones’ misfortunes.

February 10

Part literary event, part comedy show, part game show, Literary Death Match brings together four of today’s finest writers to compete in an edge-of-your-seat read-off critiqued by three celebrity judges, and concluded by a slapstick showdown to decide the ultimate champion. – Black Cat
