Holy falafel. Where have these balls been all my life?! These are by far the best balls I’ve ever had in my mouth. What? Ethiopian import, Michael Habtemariam (who is super nice), knew that with his experience in the restaurant business and modest budget, a DC food truck (or two!) was the way to go. Enter: DC Ballers.
When DC Ballers launched, it was one of the first veggie friendly trucks in DC. Taking influence from family members in Israel, Habtemariam decided that homemade falafel and crispy French fries would be perfect for the young and hungry urban professionals of the District. The motto? “Keep it simple, keep it fresh.” And fresh it is. For reals. All of the falafel is made to order on the truck which makes an incredible difference. Fried to the perfect crisp on the outside, the unbelievable fresh taste on the inside will knock your balls off.
The French fries are also amazing! Skins on, fried just right, and dosed in seasoning; grab a bag of these babies and don’t forget the delicious dipping sauce. Really, I like these fries more than I like some people. They are that fabulous. Whether you are noshing on a falafel sandwich or splurging for a platter (which is totally shareable and comes with tahini, Israeli salad, tabouli salad and pita) this delicious and relatively inexpensive mobile eatery is totally worth it. And, as an added bonus, there a 2 of these guys rolling around DC spreading their joyous balls to all of the land. Menu items start around $7. Hop on the tweet deck: @DcBallers
