It’s National Taco Day!
According to NationalTacoDay.com, Americans ate 4.5 billion tacos in 2012.
Let’s try to top that number. Here are some places in DC participating in National Taco Day, aka, Friday.

From an El Centro D.F. press release: Richard Sandoval’s lively Taqueria and Tequileria, El Centro D.F. will be celebrating National Taco Day at both locations by offering new taco flavors. Patrons wont want to miss new varieties such as Cauliflower, Beef Hearts and Chicken Liver along with longtime favorites such as Al Pastor, Beef Tongue, Chicharron, Nopal, Chicken Tinga, Baja, Steak and Chipotle BBQ Brisket. Priced from $11.95 to $13.95 each, guests can also enjoy Mexican rice and refried beans to accompany their meal.

Voted “Best Mexican Food” by washingtonpost.com’s Best Bets, try a chicken and ground beef taco platter with Lauriol’s unlimited tortilla chips.

MXDC just got voted “Best Tacos in DC” by WUSA, so checking out their taco platter–with three choices of Carne Asada, Pollo, Pork Belly, Cochinita Pibil (slow roasted pork shoulder), Hongos (mushrooms), and Mahi Mahi–seems like a solid plan if we ever heard one.

Oaxacan cheese, signature Oaxaca sauces, a plate of jicama sticks peppered with chilli powder instead of chips and salsa.
Korean, Japanese, and Latin styled tacos with kimchi-lime slaw and spicy pineapple sauce. They hit three locations most weekdays so you’re probably close to them RIGHT NOW.
