Since not all of our readers live on the Internet, Monday through Friday, 9 to 5, we decided to revisit some of our daily highlights. Because we love you. Because we care.

We began the first full week of the year in anticipation of food. There are so many bars and restaurants we want to visit. But they’re not open. So here’s our DC Bar and Restaurant Openings to Look Forward To In 2014 roundup. Locals Crash Boom Bang sold-out the 9:30 Club. Locals Monument said goodbye. We also got some pretty great shots of The Modern Moves Festival.

Because it’s the Internet, we celebrated Nicolas Cage’s 50 years on this place called Earth. All posts were Cage related. All of them. We examined his film career. We examined his memes. We examined his hair. We made him a gift guide. We celebrated the man.

The middle of the week was all about looking forward. And food. Sweetlife line-up speculation. Restaurant Week tips. MAGFest coverage. A Taste Test for the newest Taco Bell creation. And pizza. Our Best Pizza in DC post garnered a lot of reaction. Apparently, people are very opinionated about pizza.

A new movie theater is coming. Here’s what it should do. It’s getting colder outside. Here’s our warm cocktail roundup. Union Market is getting even better. Here’s our Bidwell First Look and Taste Test.

Our new feature, Nature Calls, took an SFW look at naked nature. Watching Girls this Sunday? Here’s what you should eat. Not sure how to waste your time on the Internet? Here’s who you should follow. We have a new look back at the week. It’s funny. It’s Topical Cream. The most popular restaurant of 2014 will be El Rey. Yes, we’re only 11 days into the new year, but U St + Mexican food + outdoor/indoor + happy hour + shipping container = most popular restaurant of 2014.
