The phrase “polar vortex” has suddenly been thrust into our vocabulary. This is (understandably) the only excuse most of us need to stay inside and watch every single one of the cinematic triumphs on our fantastic movie guide. Should you make this choice, you probably won’t get up from your couch until spring is shoving its pollen-filled tendrils up your nostrils. Which is cool. However, if you make the opposite choice – the choice to be one of those intrepid people who loves snowboarding and vortexes and grappa and can keep your balance on a pair of knife-thin blades while trying to avoid small children (or not, no judgment) – then we’ve got just the guide for you! Below are all the ice rinks your kitschy snow globe-loving heart could possibly desire, broken down by state. Grab your skates (and possibly a helmet, depending on your level of experience) and check out one of the winter wonderlands below.
