Derek Brown’s Miracle on 7th Street is a hit. It’s too big of a hit. There’s a line to get in every night. There was a line to get in around 6 p.m. last night. Yesterday was Monday. There’s a line to get into a Christmas themed bar every night of the week. Since you’re most likely not going to go to Miracle on 7th Street alone, you might as well wander to one of these nearby bars to enjoy a happy hour drink.

Eat the Rich

The closest bar to the revamped Mockingbird Hill is Eat the Rich. Stop in Tuesday through Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. for $1 oysters and drink specials from local producers. There’s also a late night happy hour Tuesday through Saturday from 11 p.m to close and Sunday from 9:30 p.m. to close.

Day 1 of the BYT 2014 Bentzen Ball Comedy Festival in Washington, D.C.

Satellite Room

The cheapest Tuesday night happy hour on the list. The bar/restaurant next to 9:30 Club has #‎tooturnttuesday‬ every Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. $2 rail drinks, drafts and wine.

DC9

Another nearby venue with a solid happy hour is DC9. 7 days a week the three level bar/venue/restaurant has $4 rail drinks, $3.50 Bud and Bud Light and a $4 special beer of the week. This week is Brooklyn Pumpkin. It’s good. Happy hour is Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday through Wednesday 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday and Friday 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m.

This isn’t part of happy hour, but if you tell the staff you’re splitting food, they’ll put it on seperate dishes and that’s a nice thing more bars/venues/restaurants should do.

The neighborhood bar and restaurant has a $2 off drafts and wines, $5 rail drinks and half prices apps happy hour everyday beginning at 4 that goes until 7 p.m. Some days also have food specials that last longer. Tuesday is half priced burgers and pizzas from 5 p.m. to until 10 p.m.

Royal

The biggest happy hour on this list, LeDroit Park’s Royal has a daily 3 to 6 p.m. happy hour and a Sunday through Thursday 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. happy hour featuring $5 house vermouth, $5 Narragansett tallboys, $7 classic cocktails and $7 wine.
