St. Patrick’s Day falls on a Thursday this year, so we advise you take Friday off and make some wild plans with the help of our guide. Or just go to a casual happy hour and not drink enough to be able to make it into the office the next day. Your call.
This is the place you want to be if your goal is to drink the day away. They’ll be offering $5 Tullamore Dew shots, $5 Sly Fox O’Reilly’s Stout’s, and $10 beer flights. Not to mention, there will be shepherds pies and corned beef sandwiches. What a fun combo to through up later.
This Irish pub is celebrating its 42nd St. Paddy’s Day (!!!), so they’re offering 42 cent pints of Guinness from 8:30 am to 9:00 am (on second thought, take off Thursday too), just like the Englishman Douglas Adams would have wanted. But the fun doesn’t stop there! Chef Kyle Bailey has created a special hoagie they will be serving all week long. It’s perfect to sop up all of that Guinness you’ll be drinking in a half an hour.
Between 11 am and 1 pm fill yourself with $2 (green) beers and $3 Guinness (you’re going to want to spring for the Guinness). Between 1 pm and 3 pm the price goes up one dollar. Between 3 pm and 5 pm both the green beer and the Guinness will be $5. Like I said earlier, spring on the Guinness.
The good people at Jack Rose will be extending happy hour on the second floor until 9 pm, which includes $5 pints, $7 whiskies (Irish of course), and $8 punches. This is less of a happy hour, but if you’re interested in something that costs a little more than $7, on the first floor they will be serving two ~rare~ whiskey flights for $35 and $45.
Head on over for a $6 Guinness and $5 Jameson shots, plus the opportunity to watch dancers from the Boyle School of Irish dance and enjoy some live music. Who knows, maybe after a couple of shots and pints you’ll find the power of dance deep inside yourself and will let loose moves no one has ever seen. Or you’ll fall and hurt yourself. Either way.
From 4 pm to 7 pm green beer and hopefully not green wings will be the low low price of $5, so go wild.
Yes, this is the place you usually head to on H Street where you have gotten just drunk enough to actually want to play bocce ball, but they actually have an okay deal for St. Patrick’s Day. Swing by for $5 stouts and Irish Whiskey’s all weekend long.
