The time is finally near for the Grand Opening of REI’s flagship store on October 21. They’re throwing a three day block party filled with lots of fun events, so this week for Happy Hour Hotline, we’re giving you some spots to grab a drink around the new D.C. REI.
From 4-7 p.m. Tuesday to Friday Rappahannock Oyster Bar offers 12 for $12 oysters along with discounted drinks to compliment your fancy sea food snack. Rappahannock grows their own oysters in the Chesapeake Bay, so you know these are going to be fresh.
Driftwood offers happy hour every day of the week, running from 5-8 p.m. Monday through Friday at the bar and from 4-7 on weekends. Their specials include $5 rail drinks, wine, craft beers, hummus plates, mac and cheese or fries, as well as $3 beer cans and an assortment of other happy hour food specials. Basically, any thing you could want.
If you’re more of a cocktail than beer person, you should check out Boundary Road, they offer a rotating selection of seasonal drinks and their happy hour which runs from 5:30-7 on Monday and 3-7 Tuesday- Sunday offers discounts on cocktails, beer, wine and mead. If you’ve never tried mead your missing out, it makes you feel like a king from Beowulf.
From 5-7 Monday through Friday head to the Pub and The People for $2 off draft beer including DC Brau and wine as well as $4 rail drinks. They also offer a late night/early morning happy hour from 12 a.m. to 2 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, which is great if you’re a night owl.
TD Burger’s main happy hour draw is the $5 Bud and Beer Happy Hour which includes the $5 combo of a draft Bud and a George Washington Burger. Beer and burgers, what a classic.
REI’s very own beer garden offers an assortment of beers ranging from DC’s own Atlas Brewery to Chicago’s Goose Island along with an assortment of imports.
