We are less than a week away from one of the biggest birthday celebrations of the year: America’s birthday! In order to prep your liver for all the festivities that are about to take place on the Fourth, you should probably drink and hit up happy hours as much as you can. And what drink is perfectly patriotic? Pabst Blue Ribbon. Nothing says ‘Merica quite like a cold Tall Boy PBR. I mean think about it, even the label includes red, white, and blue. Here are some of the cheapest PBR happy hours around the District.
A message to @JohnCena & the @WWE: We have a chokehold called the Cease & Desist. Pretty sure we see you? pic.twitter.com/AKWjUEXiUj

Located in Adams Morgan, the Blaguard has happy hour from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and has $2.50 Tall Boy PBRs. As an added bonus, they also have great wings specials and a juke box. Crack up your PBR, get some wings, and listen to some good ol’ patriotic music on the juke. It’s to celebrate America’s birthday, so there’s no excuse not to.
What is better than a PBR? A PBR and a shot of Rye for $8. Black Whiskey in Logan Circle offers happy hour all week long from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.. Taking a shot of rye and chasing it with PBRÂ is innovative, and America is a country of innovators, so it would be rude NOT to buy this deal.
Solly’s has a couple of great beer happy hour specials, including $3.50 PBRs. Located on U Street, Solly’s offers happy hour specials from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. This is definitely the place you want to go if you love America and PBR — they even have a PBR label painted on one of their walls so obviously you know its important to them too.
When you think of the Fourth of July, you probably think of barbecue and beer, amongst other things (like bald eagles and freedom and stuff). Hill Country has both BBQ and cheap PBR, so its double the patriotic. Their daily happy hour specials go from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. (and late night happy hour is Sunday through Thursday, 10 p.m. to close) and features $3 cans of PBR.
The bar itself is named after a past president, so you already know that this place is patriotic. Hamilton’s Bar & Grill has happy hour specials available Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., and offers $1 (yes 100 pennies) for a beautiful can of PBR. A penny saved is a penny earned, and 100 pennies spent on PBR is a wise investment.
