Cinco de Mayo falls on a Friday this year, which means you’ve got all week and weekend to celebrate. It’s no secret that a majority of Cinco de Mayo is typically spent drinking as many margaritas and taking as many tequila shots your body can handle. Whether your libation of choice comes in a shot glass or is served with a salted rim, we’ve rounded up some of the best Cinco de Mayo happy hours.
Celebrate on Friday with “Hora Feliz” cocktails, beer, and tacos from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday. This 14th street watering hole is joining the Cinco de Mayo festivities with drink specials like $7 margaritas, $4 beers, $9 cocktails, and $5 chicken tacos. Hora feliz indeed.
Kick off the celebrations a little earlier this year. Commissary is celebrating Cinco de Mayo on Quatro de Mayo (May 4) this year. Choose between drinking $5 spicy margaritas (the spice comes from the jalapeño added to the beverage) or frozen palomas. While you’re drinking, munch on carne asada, crispy chicken tinga taquitos, or beer braised port carnitas. Feliz Cinco de Mayo.
Week long specials and extended happy hour on Friday all in honor of Cinco de Mayo. All week long swing by the 14th street restaurant and bar for Don Julio tasting flights, different drink specials each night, and additional bar bites on Friday. It’s better to start drinking sooner rather than later, anyway.
What better way to spend your Cinco de Mayo than with a rooftop party. Del Campo at Dusk is happening on May 5 for $35 a ticket, and will have a late night happy hour going for all your drinking needs.
Cinco de Mayo wouldn’t be complete with out bottomless beverages all happy hour long. The taqueria will be hosting a Cinco de Mayo celebration with beer and tequila tastings during the party, and endless libations and snacks from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Drink up.
The round up wouldn’t be complete if there wasn’t any opportunity for you to eat copious amounts of guacamole. City Tap is serving a $15 guacamole trio, $10 beeritas, and more. It’s Cinco de Mayo, City Tap style.
It’s Cinco de Mayo with a throwback twist. On Friday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. the nightclub is celebrating the holiday on its brand new open-air rooftop while serving $5 Coronas, margaritas, and tequila shots, free tacos from Barcode, and more. While there jam to your favorite tunes from the 90s and 00s.
Taco Bamba Â
Celebrate as authentically as possible. This Falls Church eatery is offering traditional Mayan cochinita pibil tacos for $3 in honor of Cinco de Mayo. This means you can eat as may tacos as your body can handle, enjoy.
