The inspiration for the name Sons of Bill is Bill Wilson, father of the band’s James, Abe, and Sam. He’s also a musician in own right, and a professor of philosophical theology and southern literature at the University of Virginia, to boot. In other words, he’s a renaissance man with good genes.
