and now they’re back with their hot new album MINES (out now on Barsuk), playing a hot show next week, October 6th @ 930 Club.

      Listening to the podcast now. Great work guys.I agree with Kevin re: Shutter Island. I gusseed the twist from the trailer. Yet, it still was a beautiful piece of art: great story, cinematography, and acting.As far as music goes, I’ve heard a few of those albums, but not all. Thanks for the suggestions! If you had to pick one (sans Hello Hurricane) which album should I buy?Looking forward to being a regular listener.

I was cicrkang up at the comparison of Shamalan to the abusive boyfriend you “just keep going back to”. LOL but I must say you’ve got it wrong about Lady in the Water. I loved that flick. One of the very few movies I actually bought!

    Avalanches aside, I think we’ve waited long enough for a) Jim Guthrie to follow up “Now, More than Ever”; b) Jim O’Rourke to make a non-instrumental, non-covers record a la “Insignifigance”; c) Fugazi.

    Both Menomena’s Mines and Suckers’ Wild Smile are fantastic (been obsessed with Black Sheep), but if I HAD to choose, I would love a new Raconteurs album. PS I realllly want to go to this show.

    Bated breath, not baited. Bated is short for abated, meaning interrupted. IOW you are so much in anticipation of the event that you can’t breathe. Baited means baited, as though you ate cheese in order to make your breath smell so as to attract mice into your mouth or ate worms and then opened your mouth and stuck your head into a lake hoping a fish would swim in.

      Skip,What you are saying does make sense, hevower it appears that you (and the rest of your supporters)need a little enlightenment on the subject of customer service! Yes, you do need to smile, make eye contact, uses names twice, and resolve issues, but that is only the tip of the iceberg. Service is how you deliver a certain product to the consumer, hevower, hospitality is how you make that consumer FEEL as a result of that delivery. The goal of great customer service is to make your guests feel a sense of community with your business. In a hotel, truly great customer service is being able to read a guests body language and respond accordingly, always providing solutions to their problems, knowing your area to provide the most accurate answers and suggestions, going the extra mile to provide and memorable stay for each and every guest so that they become ADVOCATES of your property. The majority of hotels and restaurants do not have the luxury of choosing the perfect candidate. The hiring process should not only be looking for someone who already knows great customer service, but should be looking for someone with the determined motivation to LEARN it.
