Hogarth Shakespeare series author and former Man Booker Prize winner Howard Jacobson reads from his new novel Shylock is My Name, a contemporary rendering of The Merchant of Venice.
On Monday March 14th you can witness a wonderful conversation with Howard Jacobson moderated by playwright/director Aaron Posner, whose new work District Merchants, a retelling of The Merchant of Venice set in Reconstruction-era Washington, premieres at the Folger in May.
We have 5 pairs of tickets to the talk and 20 tote bags to giveaway. Inside the bags you’ll find a copy of Shylock is My Name and various other Folger goodies. To win all this stuff tell us in the comments section below how you would do a modern adaptation of your favorite Shakespeare play. Best answer wins. Good luck!
