Joan of Arc fought and defeated the English at Orléans, was captured and taken prisoner in Burgundy, and put on trial and burned at the stake—all by the age of nineteen. You know what I was doing at nineteen? I was dating a dude in The Bloodhound Gang. Not the same thing but I’d like to think we were both burned.
Bedlam’s Saint Joan is currently at Folger Theatre and has just been extended THROUGH June 10th! That’s excellent news. It’s no wonder why, especially after we were able to chat with Dria Brown who is playing the titular role. Because we know how much you love to smash that dang patriarchy we have a pair of FREE TICKETS for the June 2nd performance. To win ’em tell us in the comments section below what you were doing at nineteen! I was also living in an international youth hostel on Hollywood Blvd. Sigh. Doing great.
