Hello! It’s me, and it’s time to look at jokes from a human I like. Let’s get right to it: Liza Treyger is great and is moving from Chicago (where I live) to New York City in just a few weeks and it’s a total fucking bummer (for me, not her). Liza’s one of the best comics going in this city full of awesome comics. She’s dark and blissfully mean, with a druggy insight unlike anything you’ve seen before. Watch a clip from her appearance at the New York Comedy Festival!
Real good, right? Like Joan Rivers on pot or maybe something less clichéd and obvious? Real good either way.
If there’s any justice in this garbage world, you’ll be seeing her on (at least one) network late night show within the next six months. Liza’s already crushed it multiple times on E!’s Chelsea Lately; alongside The State’s Kerri Kenny-Silver and comic and heir to the Law & Order dynasty Josh Wolf.
You can get tiny daily doses of that laid-back brutality, often paired with a sort of weird sweetness, on her twitter feed:
She also just straight up loves animals:
But hates out of place vegetables:
I’ll leave you with a clip from a totally killer set recently aired on Comedy Central, as a part of head Workaholic Adam DeVine’s House Party series. Let’s watch her destroy in front of a bunch of house partiers just chillin’ outside on strategically arranged couches, sipping on red solo cup beers! See you next week!
