  • Tuesday, August 8 – Suns Cinema gets weirder than usual with a series of avant garde screenings featuring rural areas. Roll in, drink beer and leave at your leisure.
  • Wednesday, August 9 – West End Library is screening Arrival in case you need some more alien movies in your life.
  • Thursday, August 10 – Then go back to West End Library to see War Dogs. Man that movie looks bad.
  • Thursday, August 10 – Remember that LOST episode, “Walkabout?” Suns will not be screening that, but they will be showing the movie Walkabout. I guess that’s close enough.
  • Friday, August 11 – Catch A Tale of Two Cities and Les amants de Montparnasse at NGA.
  • Friday, August 11 – One of the best movies set in / about D.C., catch Being There at Suns.
  • Saturday, August 12 – Get some fashion info at NGA’s screening of Madame Du Barry.

  • Tuesday, August 8 – Robbery Inc, Battery Line and Kit & the Chardonnnay Boys are at DC9. I love that band name so much and I can’t quite figure out why.
  • Tuesday, August 8 – DCPL is throwing a Rock the Stacks record party at Songbyrd.
  • Tuesday, August 8 – Head on over to Comet Ping Pong to see Wing Dam, BRNDA and Bleary Eyed.
  • Tuesday, August 8 – Slash Run is hosting Poppy Patica, Blacker Face and +E.
  • Wednesday, August 9 – Go back to your favorite pizza place / venue, Comet Ping Pong, to see French Vanilla, Bless, Kid Claws and DJ Pharaoh Haqq.
  • Wednesday, August 9 – Catch Dove Lady and EAR at a rooftop show at the Woodridge Library.
  • Wednesday, August 9 – Watch some things and hear some things at Suns Cinema. It’s a weird art thing.
  • Thursday, August 10 – It’s a beautiful summer evening at the Hirshhorn and you know what that means….
  • Thursday, August 10 – Make your way over to Black Cat to catch Bells & Hunters, Fellowcraft and Short Lives.
  • Thursday, August 10 – I can’t decide if getting drunk and watching a pop punk cover band at The Passenger is hell OR heaven on earth. It’s definitely one of those.
  • Friday, August 11 – Flash Frequency, Sun Young, Primal Feelings and Crab Legs are at Paperhaus! Remember Paperhaus?
  • Saturday, August 12 – Where you alive and clubbing in D.C. in the 80s? Probably not, but just in case you were… Get hyped because DC9 is hosting a Poseurs reunion party.
  • Saturday, August 12 – Tall Friend, Really Big Pinecone and Anna Altman take over that sweet sweet Suns Cinema.

  • Wednesday, August 9 – Then go back to P&P to learn more about some crazy earthquakes.
  • Thursday, August 10 – Erik Love talks about his book Islamophobia and Racism in America at Kramerbooks.
  • Thursday, August 10 – Tom Perrotta talks about his newest album, Mrs. Fletcher at P&P. You probably know him. He wrote The Leftovers.
