  • Tuesday, August 9 – Minions screens at the South Riding Center.
  • Tuesday, August 9 – The best outdoor movie to see this week is The Princess Bride at the Carnegie Library.
  • Wednesday, August 10 – The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is at NoMa Summer Screen. Anyone who says Colbert isn’t funny anymore didn’t watch his RNC and DNC coverage. The Hungry For Power Games was so well done.
  • Thursday, August 11 – Kung Fu Panda 3 is at the Storey Park Lot.
  • Thursday, August 11 – The Martian is part of the Capitol Riverfront Outdoor Movies. It won a Golden Globe for Best Comedy. It’s not a comedy.
  • Friday, August 12 – Roman Holiday screens as part of the Rosslyn Outdoor Film Festival. This is the type of movie you want to see as part of an outdoor movie series.
  • Saturday, August 13 – Do you like wine? Do you like To Catch a Thief? It’ll be shown at The Wine Bin
  • Saturday, August 13 –All That Jazz is part of Outdoor Movies at Penrose Square.

  • Wednesday, August 10 – Summer Camp returns to The Wonderland Ballroom. Camp is more fun in the summer.
  • Thursday, August 11 – The Luce Unplugged series continues with a free show from Cigarette.
  • Friday, August 12 – Protect-U has a free noon show at the MLK Library.
  • Friday, August 12 – The best named show of the bunch is This Show Will Only Bring You Happiness at Velvet Lounge.
  • Friday, August 12 – Go dance at Heavy Rotation at Black Cat. Free before 11 p.m.
  • Friday, August 12 – The Power of Positive Drinking returns to Right Proper.
  • Friday, August 12 – Trnsgnder/vhs, Antonia and Literals have a $7 show at Slash Run.
  • Saturday, August 13 – The best free show of the week is the Atlas BAB Festival with The Lucky So and Sos. No cover, all day, Atlas beer. The beer ain’t free but the music is.
  • Saturday, August 13 – Go hang out on DC9’s rooftop for Sunset Sessions in the afternoon. These are fun.
  • Saturday, August 13 – Dirty Laundry: DC’s Only Late Night Dirty Comedy Show has the late night spot at Drafthouse Comedy. Free for college students, $5 for everyone else.
