Go on a weeknight. You’re going to try to go on the weekend and not be able to get in and complain and then think it’s stupid but it’s not stupid. You just went on a weekend. Weekends are always busy in Adams Morgan. Go early on a weeknight and you’ll see that it’s wonderful.
It has a wonderful view. It has heaters. It has punch. Punch punch. The stuff your grandparents drank. But don’t go on a weekend and expect you’ll have a seat. At least when it’s nice out.
Cochon Punch Queen (it’s a real title) Erin Goodman is serving her award winning (that’s how you become the Queen) Lei Me Down punch on the Roofer’s Union roof. Bourbon, dark rum, green tea, lemongrass, ginger, pineapple, mandarin and lemon. It takes like an old-timey punch. In other words, it doesn’t taste like alcohol and you want to drink all of it when it’s nice outside.
We could write about the quality beer selection or the easily shareable food, but people will be going to Roofers Union’s roof because it’s a roof in Adams Morgan. They’ll stay because of the shareable punch, served for 2, 4-6 or 6+. The rest of the stuff is nice. But just look at the view…
