Online menswear retailers can be hit-and-miss, especially if you’re jumping into a new brand and don’t quite know your size. Sure, your girlfriend can wring measuring tape around your neck, but getting to sample a product without ordering three online always seems preferable.
Thankfully, shirting stars Ledbury opened up shop today in Georgetown, and will remain open through December 22. The Richmond-based, nearly four-year-old clothier arrives just in time for the holidays for the product every man needs. As Ledbury’s Elizabeth Edelman says, “If you need a shirt, you come to us.”
Rightfully so. Each Italian fabric, made-in-Europe dress shirt has a collar with canvas interlining and a lower-than-usual second button. Simply put, the shirts fit great, look sharp even without a tie, and your collar won’t flatten out after a packed Metro commute home.
With the pop-up, it’s easier than ever to give Ledbury shirts a chance, if you haven’t already. The second you walk into the store, you’ll be greeted by a taxidermized deer and a helpful attendant ready to get you into a try-on shirt. Once you’ve determined your neck size and sleeve length, browse through any of the sample shirts lined up in racks surrounding the store. From simple blues and whites, to more adventurous plaids and gingham, you can grab a shirt for the office or the weekend (or both).
But, when purchasing the shirt, you won’t be walking out with any bags. Rather, you’ll place an order online and receive free shipping to your doorstep – at least, until December 19th if you want it by Christmas.
While known for shirting, Ledbury offers nearly ever other accessory you could possibly need. Scarves, belts, ties, pocket squares, socks, and a line of sweaters released just this season. If your closet doesn’t look like their trunks, racks and tabletops, fill in with each accessory as necessary.
Ledbury is located at 1254 Wisconsin Ave, and will be open Sunday through Friday from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m from November 22 – December 22.
