Last June Bantam King took over the Burger King in Penn Quarter. Goodbye, Whopper, hello, chicken ramen. This June they’re opening their walk-up window. Hello, fried chicken skin ice cream sandwich.

For now, the Bantam King walk up window is offering a few items from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. If it’s hot, and it’s been way too hot and it’s not even summer, and you’re with a friend, try the fried chicken skin sandwich.

The J-Pop Japanese Soda Float made with melon cream soda is another good option for hot weather. It’s also made to share.

The combo, Nanban Fried Chicken Sandwich and a side of Nori French Fries, is more enjoyable in less humid weather. In ideal weather, the J-Pop Japanese Soda Float with the Nori French Fries is the pairing that’ll be good for wandering around Penn Quarter before a visit to the Verizon Center or Portrait Gallery.

Bantam King’s outdoor area will soon expand house and to a patio space. Once hours and the area expands, trips to the Verizon Center will be a lot better.

Bantam King’s Walk Up Window is currently open 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. Once hours expand, we’ll let you know.
