Have an idea for BYT? Think your idea is great and you just want to get it out there and prove to the world that you’re a great person with great ideas? Great. Fill out this form. Send us your pitches. The better the pitch, the quicker the response. We’re open to anything as long as it’s interesting. Really. Weird stuff is encouraged. The weirder, most likely the better.

Fall semester is nearly over. For college students (and people that just graduated) it’s time to look for an internship.

We have three types of interns, editorial, marketing and events.

Editorial interns help create content. Researching and writing features, copy editing, taking photos, editing photos, graphic design and everything else that helps get words and photos on this site. If you’re interested in this type of internship, APPLY HERE. Ideal candidates will be available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during normal business hours. You do not have to be a journalism or English major to be an editorial intern. If you just need college credit and want to try something different, awesome. Just like the contributors, the weirder, the better.

Marketing interns will learn about event promotion, research related to the industry, work with social media scheduling platforms (TweetDeck, HootSuite, etc.) and on light graphic design (Photoshop familiarity is a bonus). Knowing Google Drive (come on, this one is easy), Illustrator, and Squarespace is a major plus. Having a car is a super bonus plus supreme. If you’re interest in this type of internship, APPLY HERE. Ideal candidates will be available Monday, Wednesday and Thursday during normal business hours.

Event interns have a slightly different type of role. The role does include some normal business hours and research, but availability to be at our events is a must. Most of our events are on weekend nights. 21+ helps but isn’t necessary. Having a car helps but isn’t necessary, it just really helps. If you’re interested in this type of internship, APPLY HERE.

Regardless of being an editorial, marketing or event intern, you will participate in all aspects of BYT. For example, a former editorial intern is currently on the BYT event staff. A former editorial intern is currently on the BYT marketing team. A former editorial intern is currently on the BYT photo team. Everyone at BYT does a little bit of everything so there’s no need to worry about applying for one type of internship and getting stuck.

The ideal intern knows why they’re here. Whether you want to develop your photography skills or writing ability or event execution, you will have an opportunity to follow your passion. If you have no idea why you’re applying but gifs seem fun, please do not apply. Once again, the weirder, the better.

Please understand that whenever we post a call for contributors and interns we receive over 100 responses. It takes time to sort through pitches and applications. If you don’t get a response right away, it’s most likely not personal or a judgement on your character. It may be but most likely is not.

Thanks for reading and here’s a fun gif:
