This month’s Local Lips event was just as amazing as our kick off last month! Take Care Shop was as welcoming of a setting as ever, Joanna Andreae, Kim Pendleton and Ann Yang were wonderful; all sharing wise and humor-filled anecdotes about their own experiences (and sometimes failures) with the concept of Nourishment. One of our favorite audience questions of the night was about what books and podcast our panelists were currently obsessed with – be sure to scroll down for those answers!
Also, as always a huge thank you to our amazing event partners, who provided tasty bites and sips for all of our guests and participants. The night would not have been the same without Cava, City Winery, Vegetable + Butcher and Misfit Juicery!
We’ve got something really exciting in the works for May, so be sure to stay on the lookout for more on that. Also, Stay in the loop and follow us on Facebook & Twitter & Instagram and share through #LocalLipsDC / #BYThings. Keep your eyes open for even more online content around the amazing women we’re highlighting for the Local Lips series!

As promised, an insight into the books and podcasts these amazing women are loving right now! For Joanna, it’s The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert (Pro-tip: get it on Audio-book) and the Reality Riffing podcast by Guru Jagat. For Ann, she’s loving 8 Years In Power, by Tanahesi Coates, the amazing All The Single Ladies article from the Atlantic, plus Esther Perel’s Where Should We Begin podcast. Last but not least, Kim is a big fan of Tiny Beautiful Things by Cheryl Strayed, and Am I There Yet? by Mari Andrew!
