Welcome to BYT’s newest “hot damn, how could I live without this” column, Eating Out. We’ll be highlighting one food or booze special event every night of the week. From the best happy hours in the city to the uber expensive $500 per person tasting menus, there is something good to eat or drink every single night in this city and we want to help you find it. And yes, we do get the joke.
While I’m very into Flying Dog’s aesthetic, their beers usually don’t do it for me. The only beer I consistently enjoy from them is The Truth. It’s a nice and bitter and boozy. They’ll be serving six different versions of this Imperial IPA, including made with gin infused oak. Let’s get boozy and yell.
It’s a $10 taco eating contest. I bet you could just pay $10 and eat as many tacos as you want at your leisure. Even if you don’t want to pay the $10, you can just hang out and watch other people jam tacos into their mouths. Everything is great.
Now that we’ve filled ourselves with tacos and beer, let’s do something a little classier. Head to DGS’s birthday party to snack on corned beef terrine, pastrami spiced duck breast, and a spiced apple cake! Dinner is $30 (with an optional $15 wine pairing). Happy Birthday, kiddos.
Skip work and fill your stomach with waffles. It’s what the veteran’s want.
If you’re a food lover, you can’t skip Emporiyum. Stop by to try and buy a range of delicious products you never knew you needed. There will be over 95 different chefs doing their thing. It’s going to be delicious.
It’s the best holiday of all, National Pupusa Day. Swing by El Tamarindo for BOGO pupusas and $5 RumChata shots. I don’t know why anyone is shooting (or drinking) RumChata, but if that’s what makes you happy, go for it.
Your week looks delicious.
