Watch this video before you do anything.
And if you’re around on Friday Night, clear your schedule.
If you’re not around, cancel your trip.
K’Naan was on tour in Sweden with Damian Marley and got roughed up by some security guards. So he wrote a song about it. To the tune of Lupe Fiasco’s Kick/Push. It’s called Kicked/Pushed:
“K’Naan make a song about anything.” That’s what Mos Def has to say.
“He’s hot!” That’s what Lauren Cooper has to say.
I think he can speak for himself:
“All Somalis know that gangsterism isn’t to brag about. The kids that I was growing up with [in Rexdale (Toronto, Canada)] would wear baggy [track] suit pants, and a little jacket from Zellers or something, and they’d walk into school, and all the cool kids would be like, ‘Ah, man, look at these Somalis. Yo, you’re a punk!’ And the other kid won’t say nothing, but that kid, probably, has killed fifteen people.”
K’Naan is from Mogadishu, Somalia. His flow is fantastic and his lyrics and perspective are quite interesting.
And apparently he’s really hot, too. (always a plus-ed)
And he’s playing an outdoor concert at National Geographic Headquarters on Friday.
